In today’s article, I interview my 14 and 10 year old sons on their thoughts about not having a cell phone. Although I don’t have an objection to cell phones per se, neither son really wants or needs one at this point in their lives. Most of their friends have cell phones, though, so I wanted to ask them how they feel about being the odd person out.
money and kids
Part of having kids is teaching them hard lessons about money. Sometimes parents find it tricky to teach things like deferred gratification, or making wise spending decisions, to their kids without lecturing them. Today I share the story about the role Harry Potter Wizard chess and Hoverballs played in helping my kids learn these lessons.
